CBIC issued Notification No. 42/2023-Customs Dated: 30th June, 2023 to amend Notification No. 11/2021-Customs. The amendment introduces a new entry prescribing an Agriculture Infrastructure and Development Cess (AIDC) rate of 15% for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) imports.
Amendment Details: The notification amends Notification No. 11/2021-Customs, which was originally published on February 1, 2021. The amendment inserts a new entry, Sl. No. 10B, in the table of the notification. This new entry applies to all goods falling under tariff items 2711 19 10, 2711 19 20, and 2711 19 90, prescribing an Agriculture Infrastructure and Development Cess (AIDC) rate of 15%.
Effective Date: The amendment shall come into effect on July 1, 2023. Importers and stakeholders involved in LPG trade should take note of this effective date for compliance purposes.

G.S.R. 471(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962) read with section 124 of the Finance Act, 2021 (13 of 2021), the Central Government, on being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 11/2021-Customs, dated the 1st February, 2021, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3,Sub-section (i), vide number G.S.R. 69(E), dated the 1st February, 2021, namely :-
In the said notification, in the TABLE, after Sl. No. 10, and the entries relating thereto, the following Sl. No. and entries shall be inserted, namely: –
