The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a public notice (F.No.II/21022/23(22)/2020-FCRA-II, dated June 24, 2025) extending the validity of certain FCRA registration certificates. This extension is applicable to two categories of entities. Firstly, those whose validity was previously extended until June 30, 2025, and who have a pending renewal application, will now have their validity extended until September 30, 2025, or until their application is decided, whichever comes first. Secondly, FCRA entities whose five-year validity period expires between July 1, 2025, and September 30, 2025, and who have applied or will apply for renewal before their expiry date, will also see their validity extended until September 30, 2025, or until their application is disposed of, whichever is earlier. Associations are advised that if their renewal application is refused, their certificate’s validity will be considered expired on the date of refusal, prohibiting them from receiving or utilizing foreign contributions.
