The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has issued a public advisory warning stakeholders about fraudulent calls, WhatsApp messages, emails, ZIP file attachments, phishing attempts, and fake websites falsely impersonating the MCA, the Reserve Bank of India, the Income Tax Department, and other Government departments. These fraudulent communications are intended to deceive individuals into sharing confidential, financial, or personal information. The MCA has advised stakeholders to exercise extreme caution by avoiding suspicious links, unsolicited ZIP files, attachments, and unverified communication channels. It has clarified that the Ministry does not contact stakeholders through mobile calls or WhatsApp regarding compliance issues or enforcement actions. Stakeholders should verify the authenticity of all communications only through the official MCA website before acting. For cyber fraud prevention, the advisory recommends referring to the Ministry of Home Affairs’ cyber safety guidance and reporting suspicious communications through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal. Queries relating to MCA services should be raised through the MCA Helpdesk.

Dear Stakeholders,

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has come across instances of fraudulent calls, WhatsApp messages, emails, ZIP file attachments, phishing messages, and fake websites impersonating the Ministry, the RBI, the Income Tax Department, and other Government Departments with the intent to deceive stakeholders.

Stakeholders are advised to exercise utmost caution and refrain from clicking on suspicious links, opening unsolicited ZIP files or attachments, or sharing confidential, financial, or personal information through WhatsApp, email, or any other unverified channel.

It is reiterated that the MCA does not contact stakeholders through mobile calls or WhatsApp regarding non-compliance or enforcement actions. Stakeholders are advised to verify the authenticity of all communications only through the official MCA website at https://www.mca.gov.in before taking any action.

For guidance on cyber fraud prevention, stakeholders may refer to the advisory issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs. Any suspicious communication may be reported through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (https://cybercrime.gov.in).

In case the communication pertains to MCA services, stakeholders may also raise a ticket through the MCA Helpdesk for appropriate assistance.
