The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has come up with a new structure of the Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) which shall be effective from June 2026. This article will help you understand all the important changes made in the new structure.
Why updates in the CSEET Exam?
The updated structure of CSEET brings various benefits:

EXAMINATION STRUCTURE
The new CSEET consists of 4 papers:
Subjective Papers (3 hours each, 100 marks):
- Day 1: Business Communication
- Day 2: Fundamentals of Accounting
- Day 3: Economic and Business Environment
Exam Timings: Exams will be conducted from 2:30 PM to 5:45 PM (includes 15 minutes reading time)
OMR-Based Paper (2 hours, 100 marks):
- Day 4: Business Laws and Management
- Business Laws – 60 marks and Business Management – 40 marks
- No negative marking! (Good News)
EXAM DATES?
CSEET will now be held three times a year:
- February Session – Exam in first week of February, results will be declared by end of March
- June Session – Exam in first week of June, results will be declared by end of July
- October Session – Exam in first week of October, results will be declared by end of November

Eligibility:
- Must be an Indian National
- Passed or appearing in 12th standard (10+2) or equivalent
Fees:
- Registration Fee: ₹7,500 (includes Student Induction Programme and online classes)
- Exam Fee: ₹1,500 per session

EXAM ENROLLMENT DEADLINES
- Normal Fee (₹1,500): Approximately 2 months before exam
- With Late Fee (₹1,500 + ₹250): About 10 days extension available

You can get 50% discount on both registration and exam fees if you belong to:
- SC/ST category
- Physically Handicapped
- Northeastern states, Andaman & Nicobar, Lakshadweep, or Himachal Pradesh
100% waiver on registration fee for students from:
- Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh Union Territories
Here’s how you can skip CSEET!
You can directly register for CS Executive Programme if you have:
- Cleared ICSI Foundation Examination
- Completed CA Final or CMA Final
- Holding Bachelor’s or Post Graduate degree
- Appearing in final year/semester of Bachelor’s degree
How to Pass CSEET?
To clear the exam, you need:
- Minimum 40% in each paper
- Minimum 50% in total (aggregate of all papers)
- All papers must be passed in one sitting
- No exemptions or carry forward of marks
IMPORTANT VALIDITY PERIODS
Registration Validity: 3 years from the calendar month you register
Result Validity: 1 year from result announcement date
- You must register for CS Executive Programme within this period
Transition Information
Last Exam Under Old Pattern: January 2026
- If you clear exams in January 2026, you will get 1 year to enroll for CS Executive Level
First Exam Under New Pattern: June 2026

- Marksheets: Only Electronic Marksheets will be issued
- Refund Policy: No refunds except in case of double payment
- Venue: Allocated examination centers in all major cities across India
- Result Verification: You can apply for verification of marks within 21 days of result declaration
