The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced a complete ban on canvassing 24 hours before the commencement of polling and on polling day(s) for the upcoming 26th Council and 25th Regional Councils elections, scheduled for 6th and 7th December 2024. The Election Code of Conduct for these elections remains in effect until the declaration of results. This includes restrictions on any form of canvassing, except one-to-one communication. All candidates, supporters, and authorized representatives are advised to strictly adhere to the Election Code of Conduct. Candidates and their Supporters/Authorized Representatives may note that the Election Code of Conduct for the ensuing quadrennial election to the 26th Council and 25th Regional Councils to be held on 6th and 7th December 2024 continues to remain in force and shall be effective till the declaration of results. In pursuance to the provisions of the Election Code of Conduct-2024, there shall be a complete ban on canvassing in any form/mode, excepting one to one communication, 24 hours before the commencement of polling and during the polling day(s).
All concerned are cautioned to observe the Election Code of Conduct scrupulously.
