Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has released the election results for its 25th Regional Councils. The notification, issued on December 27, 2024, lists elected members for five regional councils—Western, Southern, Eastern, Central, and Northern India. The members’ names, membership numbers, and respective locations are provided in alphabetical order. These councils are formed under the provisions of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988, and the Chartered Accountants (Election to the Council) Rules, 2006.
For the Western India Regional Council, 21 members were elected from locations like Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, and Surat. Southern India’s council comprises 14 members representing cities such as Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Kochi. The Eastern India Regional Council elected five members from Kolkata, Siliguri, and Bhubaneswar. The Central India Regional Council includes 12 members from cities like Jaipur, Indore, and Kanpur, with one result subject to a pending court decision. Northern India elected 12 members from Delhi, New Delhi, and other regions.
