FEEL THE FEAR
Have you ever experienced that whenever you start a new job, go to new college, start new assignment etc, there is usually a fear.
Which kind of fear?
Fear of failure, fear of doing mistakes, fear of rejection, fear of being judged and so on.
But do you know that it is a just self created belief which sets limits to our abilities? How we can know that we are going to fail or succeed unless we make a choice to experience it and get out of our comfort zone?
Unfortunately, most people let fear stop them from taking the necessary steps to achieve their aims.
This is true that whenever the person is moving on the journey of achieving his goals he is going to confront his fears. New experiences will always feel a little scary. It is a signal that we are moving out of our comfort zone. But Don’t ever let it keep yourself away from doing important tasks, or anything you want to DO.
Fear is something to be acknowledged, experienced.
FEAR stand for Fantasized Experiences Appearing Real
As explained aforesaid, all of our fears are self created. Human just frighten themselves by fantasizing negative outcomes they might experience.
Psychologists says that fear means:
Fantasized
Experiences
Appearing
Real
GETTING RID OF FEAR
One way to get rid of fear is to ask yourself what you are imagining that is scary to you and then replace that image with its positive. Suppose you are in a plane and imagining that the plane would go crash. This is scary feeling. OK. Now replace this with positive such as remember for which purpose you are travelling in plane. You might be going for travel or business meeting. Just imagine the fun you are going to have or task you are going to do in your meeting. The breathing will deepened and fear will be disappeared instantly since the catastrophic picture of plane crashing has been replaced with the positive image.
The same goes with other life situations.
Another way is to focus on feeling you would like to experience such as proud, courageous, victory, joy, calm after facing you fear whether is a presentation, or climbing mountains. You will feel that after a minute or two, feeling of fear have fade and eventually you will find yourself in a neutral stage since your focus have been shifted to the achievement.
Facing our fear builds up the confidence in our abilities.
