The Examination Department of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India issued an important announcement on March 2, 2026 regarding the selection of examination centres for the May 2026 Chartered Accountants examinations. In continuation of the earlier notification dated December 12, 2025 concerning the Final, Intermediate, and Foundation examinations scheduled for May 2026, the Institute has introduced a change in the centre selection process. Unlike previous examination cycles where candidates were required to select only a zone or city, the online application form for the May 2026 examinations will now allow candidates to directly choose their preferred examination centre within the selected zone or city. However, candidates must note that the Institute retains the authority to make the final allotment of the examination centre. The exact name and location of the allotted examination centre will be communicated to candidates through their admit cards issued for the examination.

Option of Examination Centre Selection by the candidates for May 2026 Chartered Accountants Examinations
In Continuation to the earlier announcement no. 13-CA (Exam)/May/2026 dated 12th December, 2025 regarding Final/Intermediate/Foundation Examinations to be held in May 2026, it is hereby informed that unlike previous examinations where students selected only a zone or city, the online application form for May-2026 CA examinations will now provide the option to select the preferred exam centre in zone/city directly.
Candidate may note that the ICAI reserves the right for the final allotment of Exam Centre and the name of the Exam Centre will be indicated in the admit card.
