Sub. – Activities of the Career Counselling Committee (CCC), ICAI in the year 2016-17
This Committee was formed in the month of February, 2015 under nomenclature ‘Career Counselling Committee (CCC) with an objective to promote the Commerce Education with special focus on CA course among Secondary, Senior/ Higher Secondary, Graduate/Post Graduate students as well as other stakeholders.
We were given opportunity to serve as a Chairman, Vice Chairperson & Member of this Committee on February 2016. It has been a matter of great pleasure for us to chair a Committee which is promoting the Commerce Education particularly CA course at large.
We were glad to share with you that the activities carried out by the Career Counselling Committee in the year 2016-17. Some key initiatives of the Committee are described as below:

Commerce Wizard-2016: A Talent Search Test for the Students of Class IX,X,XI & XII
The Commerce Talent Search Test called as ICAI Commerce Wizard -2016 is a diagnostic test that measures the concept understanding ability of a student of Class IX & X and XI & XII.
The ICAI Commerce Wizard conducted at two levels:
Level 1 test:
The first level of the test organized through on-line arrangement on 15.01.2017. The candidates appeared in the online test from his home or any convenient place through their Laptop/Desktop/Mobile. The online test conducted on 15th January, 2017. There are 100 questions (100 marks) objective-type (Multiple Choices) questions of 75 minutes duration, 25 questions (25 marks) from each subject such as Business Studies, Mathematics, Economics & Aptitude for the students of class IX & X and Mathematics, Economics, Accounting & Aptitude for the students of class XI & XII.
3000 students each from Class IX & X and XI & XII selected From Level-1 to Level 2 test
Level 2 test:
The level 2 test conducted by means classroom written test in the designated Centre as decided by the Test Management Committee through Printed Question papers & OMR answer sheets for shortlisted candidates of level 1 on 22nd January, 2017. There are 100 questions (100 marks) objective-type (Multiple Choices) questions of 90 minutes duration, 25 questions (25 marks) from each subject such as Business Studies, Mathematics, Economics & Aptitude for the students of class IX & X and Mathematics, Economics, Accounting & Aptitude for the students of class XI & XII.
Negative marking of 0.25 for every wrong answer in case of level-1 & Level 2 test. No Negative marking for un-attempted answers in Level-1 & Level-2 test.
The award function of ICAI Commerce Wizard-2016 conducted by the Committee to be held on today, attended by Shri Vijay Goel, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, CA. M.Devaraja Reddy, President, ICAI, CA. Nilesh Shivji Vikamsey, Vice President, ICAI & other council members along with me. The Secretary, Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur will also attend the award function. The Award function will be preceded by a talk on budget by CA. Girish Ahuja.
National/ World Commerce Education Day on 10thNovember, 2016
The Committee celebrated National/World Commerce Education Day on 10th November, 2016 with the theme “Expanding Horizons of Commerce Education”. National/ World Commerce Education Day celebrated as one of the main Commerce festivals in India this year during which students of the schools and colleges showcase their talent as well as hosting the career counseling programmes across India as well as abroad organized by the Career Counseling committee .
A booklet on ‘A Guide to Understand Common Proficiency Test: A Ladder for an excellent Career Ahead’
The CCC, ICAI published a booklet on ‘A Guide to Understand Common Proficiency Test: A Ladder for an excellent Career Ahead’. The aforesaid booklet to be published by CCC, ICAI is a guide for the students appearing for CPT.
A booklet on ‘Prepare Yourself for Chartered Accountancy Course: An Excellent Career in Focus with endless opportunities ‘
The CCC, ICAI published a booklet on ‘Prepare Yourself for Chartered Accountancy Course: An Excellent Career in Focus with endless opportunities ‘. The aforesaid booklet is giving pertinent information of the Chartered Accountancy course and educates the students in making the right career choices.
A flyer on ‘Chartered Accountancy Course: A Global Career with Endless Opportunities’
The CCC, ICAI published a flyer on ‘Chartered Accountancy Course: A Global Career with Endless Opportunities’. The aforesaid flyer is a promotional material to be circulated to the students during the Career Counseling Programmes organized by the Committee.
Exclusive website of CCC, ICAI & CCC, ICAI in Social Media Platform
In an Exclusive website of the committee i.e. ccc.icai.in, to promote the Commerce Education with special focus on CA course amongst Secondary, Senior/ Higher Secondary, Graduate/Post Graduate students as well as other stakeholders. The aforesaid website educate students about the glorified world of Accountancy Profession This website provided a platform for choosing an excellent career with special reference to Commerce education particularly Accountancy education and help them in deciding the right career choice in accountancy education available to them.
CCC, ICAI brought out its contents in social media platform, to promote the Commerce Education with special focus on CA course amongst Secondary, Senior/ Higher Secondary, Graduate/Post Graduate students as well as other stakeholders. The aforesaid various social media platform like Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Youtube&Linkedin, facilitate in creating buzz, post updates, starting discussions, sharing links, promotional campaigns, promote blogs/feeds, posting of photos & documents , creating twitter handler, customised for Contact form/ Registration form for the same etc. to promote the Commerce Education with special focus on CA course.
DVD on “Chartered Accountancy Course: An excellent Career in Focus with endless opportunities”
The Committee brought out a DVD on “Chartered Accountancy Course: An excellent Career in Focus with Endless opportunities” containing significant details about the CA Course. This DVD will be very useful to the new aspirants for CA course but also handy reference to guide them and serve as repository for students aspiring to become Chartered Accountants. This DVD will also be reference material for students to look forward for Chartered Accountancy course which bring Independence, fulfilment, respect, name & fame and a challenging Career ahead.
Empanelment of Resource Persons for Career Counselling Programmes to be carried out by CCC, ICAI
Resource persons across India empanelled for carrying out the Career Counselling Programmes in each & every part of the country.
Workshop on Commerce Education with Special focus on Chartered Accountancy Course
The Committee orgnised the Workshop on Commerce Education with Special focus on Chartered Accountancy .
Career Counselling Programme at Overseas locations
The Committee had organized Career Counselling programme in overseas destination.
Faculty Development Programme
The Committee organised Faculty Development Programme for the teachers engaged in Secondary & Senior Secondary Schools at Delhi on 20thOctober, 2016, Hyderabad on 23rd October, 2016, 26th October, 2016 at Kanpur & on 27th October, 2016 at Mumbai for faculties engaged in Secondary & Senior Secondary Schools.
The Committee also conducted a Faculty Development Programme for the teachers of Commerce engaged in Secondary & Senior Secondary Schools in Delhi NCR held at Noida on 11th July, 2016, wherein various topics like IFRS, Accounting standards & Companies Act, 2013 were deliberated. More than 134 teacherss participated in the aforesaid programme.
Mega Career Counselling Programme
The Committee organized a mega career counseling programmeon 28th June 2016 at Krishna Public School, Nehru Nagar Bhilai, C.G. and BSP Senior Secondary School, Sector-7, Bhilai, C.G. More than 4000 students participated in the aforesaid mega career counseling programme. The Committee also organized the same in other locations of India.
Interactive Meeting for Career Counsellors
The Committee organised an Interactive Programme for Career Counsellors at Noida on 21st October, 2016, at 26th October, 2016 at Kanpur & on 27th October, 2016 at Mumbai
Participation of committee in various fairs & exhibitions
The Committee participated in fairs & exhibitions organized by various entities in various locations of India.

The Committee organised more than 500 career counseling programmes for the students of Secondary, Senior/ Higher Secondary, Graduate/Post Graduate in the school & college concerned as well as other places across india
