A number of steps have been taken since 2018 to ease the liquidity position of Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs) and to increase credit flow. This was stated by Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, Union Minister of State for Finance & Corporate Affairs, in a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha today.
Provision of Section 137(1) of the Companies Act, 2013 requiring filing of financial statement within thirty days of the date of annual general meeting may be considered for amendment by prescribing a period of sixty days for such filing, aligning it with the date of filing of annual return.
One of the projects very close to my heart was the successful phased implementation of UDINs that established the identity of members signing various reports/ certificates. This initiative in India is the first of its kind in the world that was well appreciated in the IFAC Council and will be soon mirrored by the other SAFA member bodies.
