GST revenue collections for December 2024 show an overall increase compared to the same month in 2023. Gross domestic revenue grew by 8.4%, totaling ₹1,32,589 crores, while the net domestic revenue increased by 6.7%, amounting to ₹1,21,019 crores. The total gross GST revenue, which includes both domestic and import revenue, rose by 7.3% to ₹1,76,857 crores, with a net revenue increase of 3.3%, reaching ₹1,54,366 crores. The major contributors to this growth were CGST, SGST, and IGST, showing steady improvement across various states and union territories. States like Haryana, Punjab, and Telangana saw significant growth in their GST collections, while others such as Chandigarh and Arunachal Pradesh experienced a decline. Refunds also saw a rise, with total refunds increasing by 45.3% compared to the previous year. The growth was spread across both domestic and export refunds, reflecting a healthier tax ecosystem. The data reflects a continued upward trend in GST collection, showing resilience across the country’s economy, with an overall 8.6% growth year-to-date.
