Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Amendment (Amendment) Rules, 2023

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 24th March, 2023

G.S.R. 214(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1)read with clauses (j) and (q) of sub-section (2) of section 52 of the Legal Metrology Act, 2009 (1 of 2010), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011, namely:-

1. (1) These rules may be called the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Amendment (Amendment) Rules, 2023.

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2. In the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) (Amendment) Rules, 2022, in rule 1, in sub-rule (2), for the figures, letters and words “1st day of April, 2023”, the figures, letters and words “1st day of June, 2023” shall be substituted.

Note : The Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Amendment Rules, 2022 were published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (i) vide number G.S.R. 226 (E), dated the 28th March, 2022 and last amended vide notification number G.S.R. 60 (E), dated the 27th January, 2023.

1. (1) These rules may be called the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Amendment (Amendment) Rules, 2023.

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2. In the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) (Amendment) Rules, 2022, in rule 1, in sub-rule (2), for the
figures, letters and words “1st day of February, 2023”, the figures, letters and words “1st Day of April, 2023” shall be substituted.
