Sub: Regarding COVID-19 Vaccination Precaution Dose to HCWs FLWs and persons aged > 60 years with co-morbidities
In continuation of Order No. 6(1038)/CH/DFW/2021-22/9213-23, dated: 31st December 2021, regarding COVID-19 Vaccination of 15.18 years age group and administration of Precaution Dose to HCWs, FLWs and persons aged > 60 years with co-morbidities, further directions have been received from MoHEW. Gol via DD. No. 2058150/2021/lmm., dated: 6th January 2022 (enclosed), and are reiterated as under :
a) As a precaution, one additional dose of COVID-19 Vaccine is to be provided to Health Care Workers (HCWs), Front Line Workers (FLWs) and all persons aged 60 years with co-morbidities from 10th January 2022. provided that they have received 2 doses and 39 weeks / 9 months have elapsed from the date of administration of dose.
b) Administration of homologous vaccine for HCWs, FLWs and elders (more than 60 years of age with co-morbidities) is recommended as Precaution dose to these eligible the same vaccine that has been administered for previous two doses.
c) The Private Hospitals that (unction as COVID-19 Vaccination Centres can vaccinate their staff (Doctors, paramedics etc.) at their hospital itself They may choose to bear the cost of the vaccine doses and provide the precaution dose to their staff who are eligible and due, free of cost or they may provide such vaccination and charge for it.
DMs. COMOs & DIOs are requested to issue necessary instructions to the concern ed in this regard.
