All India Mobile Retailer Association has written a letter to Chief Minister of Haryana and requested Complete Restriction in Delivery of Non-Essential Items by all platforms (Online & Offline) & also made Vaccination Request.
To,
Shri Manohar Lal Khattar
Honourable Chief Minister
Government of Haryana,
Chandigarh
Dated: 5 May 2021
Subject: Complete Restriction in Delivery of Non-Essential Items by all platforms (Online & Offline) & Vaccination Request
Respected Shri Manohar Lal Khattar ji,
We all are going through the thoughest days of our lives with the Covid -19 pandemic. This is an unprecedented situation for us and we stand strongly with the Government of Haryana. We are all the ground reality and what the repercussions could be if we do not stand united in this worst health crisis of our era. Mobile Fraternity of the state welcomes the lockdown in Haryana. We at AIMRA are completely aligned with your actions and ready to be of service to you.
We highly appreciate the effective work and measures that the Government of Haryana is undertaking in your able leadership, to combat Covid-19 and safeguard the people of Haryana . you are yourself leading from front & visiting the different districts & overlooking Covid-19 management.
We request you for the safety of our citizens and delivery boys by not allowing delivery of anything that does not fall under essentials by online companies, as per the government’s directives. Delivery boys can be asymptomatic virus carries which will defeat the very purpose of the lockdown by the government.
We hope you will take the above into consideration and look into the matter in order to issue a relevant advisory to all online companies to avoid dodging the norms to supply anything which does not come under the essential commodities list. At this phase of the outbreak, We need to take utmost care.
This prompt decision has also been taken by the Maharashtra. Rajasthan, Chatisgarh & Delhi Governments to maintain a level playing field to support the retail fraternity. Lakhs of retailers/ traders and their families have high hopes from the Haryana Government under your able leadership to safeguard their stress, fear, and anxiety during such times.
The first lockdown has already caused a deep damage to the offline to the trade along with the brutality of foreign online online players in from of deep discounting and predatory pricing.
First time in the 25 years of mobile industry and only in india , online procured almost 55% market share in the last Diwali post lock-down, squeezing the survival of stand alone retailers, and forcing closure of thousands of mobile stores. We, the mobile retailers , are helping our employees in whichever way we can during this crisis. Haryana Government has done very good in giving employment to youth but if this online delivery of non-essential item is not checked it will render many mobile shopkeepers unemployed as they will be forced to close shops on opening of lockdown.
Sir, entire trade community should be vacccinated on priority so that the traders can work with all possible precautions for their livelihood and support the economic crisis and avert another lockdown situation.
We all are with the government and we believe that things will be done in the right manner. Together we will definitely win the against Covid. We also thank all the frontine heroes, health workers , police and other administrators who are working day and night , to control the spread of this epidemic in our city.
Yours Sincerely
Sanjay Khaneja
