Please clarify whether a service availed on 11/04/2020 but found defective subsequently can now be taken up with Consumer Forum for getting relief under Consumer Protection Act 2019 coming into force on 20/07/2020

  2. Laxman says:

This new act looks good but complaints are pending since 2014 in NCDRC and whereas cases are finally heard judgements are pending from announcement for the past more than 18 months? Will the concerned authorities bring relief to the consumers?

  3. R C THUKRAL says:

The cases which are already in state Consumer court and NCDRC for consideration, will those be disposed off with the direction to approach DISTTICT CONSUMER COURT.People have already hired lawyers and paid money. What will they. They again have to hire lawyer fo DISTRICT CONSUMER COURT. In one go if all the people are directed to DISTRIC CONSUMER COURT. will the court be in a position to handle all cases in a limited time.
It is not clear whether this law will be effective from retrospective date affecting all cases in the higher courts.
    Please advise. Thanks.
