CAG’s Appointment – Delhi High Court Judgment

The Delhi High Court has dismissed two writ petitions filed by N.Gopalaswami (Former CEC) & others and Manohar Lal Sharma, Advocate challenging the appointment of Shri Shashi Kant Sharma as CAG of India made in May 2013 and for commanding the Government to frame a transparent selection procedure based on definite criteria and to constitute a broad based non-partisan selection Committee, which after calling applications and nominations would recommend to the President of India, the most suitable person for appointment as CAG.
