NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 20th March, 2017
G.S.R. 263(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 27 of the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 (39 of 1987), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the National Legal Services Authorities Rules, 1995, namely:—
1. (1) These rules may be called the National Legal Services Authorities (Amendment) Rules, 2017.
(2) They shall be deemed to have come into force on the 12th August, 2015.
2. In the National Legal Services Authorities Rules, 1995, in rule 10, in sub-rule (2), for clause (ii), the following clause shall be substituted, namely:-
“(ii) Joint Secretary, Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India;”;

Explanatory Memorandum
The National Legal Services Authorities (Second Amendment) Rules, 2015 was published vide notification number S.O 2164(E), dated the 12th August, 2015 in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii) dated the 10th August, 2015. It is certified that no one will be adversely affected by the retrospective effect being given to this rule.
Note: The principal rules were published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), vide number S.O. 2164(E) dated the 10th August, 2015.
