Jaipur, June 9 (PTI) Income Tax department conducted raids at 14 premises and surveys at six places belonging to private doctors here for suspected tax evasion, officials said today. The raids launched yesterday were being carried out till late last night and are likely to end today, they said.
The raids and surveys were carried out at private hospitals, homes and offices of nine doctors in Lal Kothi, Malviya Nagar, C-scheme, Sethi colony and some other parts.
The IT officials have recovered several documents related to investment and cash transaction.
Disclosure of the recovered documents will be made after the raids conclude, they said.

The income tax officials on Wednesday unearthed Rs 16 crore from 20 premises and business establishments of three leading doctors and six of their associates in the city.
The raids were conducted by different teams of income tax officials. I-T sources said the raids were conducted to find out whether the doctors had paid proper taxes and whether they misrepresented receipts and earnings from private practice.
Director general, income tax (investigation), Brijesh Gupta, divulging the details of the undisclosed income, said: ” Through the raids and searches conducted at 20 places belonging to three doctors – oncology specialist Aneesh Maaru, brain & spine surgeon Kamal Gupta and cardiologist Shailendra Sharma and six of their associates, we have found an undisclosed income of Rs 16 crore.”
“All of these defaulters are willing to pay the income tax on the undisclosed income,” Gupta added. The raids were conducted at homes, offices and hospitals situated near Lal Kothi, Tonk Road, Sikar Road, C-Scheme, Malviya Nagar and other parts of the city. Maru works at S K Soni hospital, while Karan Goyal is director of the Indo Western Brain and Spine Hospital. Sharma is the director of Jaipur hospital.
