The CBI has registered a graft case against three officials of Central Excise here for their alleged involvement in corrupt practices and causing a loss of over Rs five crore to exchequer.
CBI officials said the case, under different Sections of IPC and the Prevention of Corruption Act, was registered against R T Gulani, Assistant Commissioner, Reeta Nagarkar, Superintendent and Suneel Gawte, Inspector. Sudheer Wadhwani Food Processing, a private company, was also named in the FIR.
“It was alleged that the accused public servants entered into a criminal conspiracy with an Indore-based processing firm through its representative during the period June, 2008 to January, 2009m, a CBI spokesperson said in a statement.
