Fortis Healthcare Limited, a prominent player in India’s healthcare sector, has announced its financial results for the second quarter of the fiscal year 2027, showcasing a robust performance with consolidated revenues reaching INR 2,735 crore, marking a 17.3% increase compared to the same period last year. Despite the revenue growth, the company reported a slight decrease in profit after tax (PAT) margin, which stood at 11.7%, down from 14.1% in Q2 FY26.

The hospital business, a significant contributor to Fortis’s overall performance, recorded a revenue of INR 2,340 crore, reflecting an 18.6% year-on-year increase. However, the PAT margin for this segment fell to 12.1% from 14.5% in the previous year. This growth was driven by a 7% rise in average revenue per patient and a 9% increase in occupied beds. Fortis is actively expanding its footprint, having acquired Suguna Hospital in Bengaluru and entered into an agreement for a new super-specialty hospital in New Delhi, which is expected to bolster its presence in these regions.

The diagnostics business also demonstrated positive momentum, with gross revenues increasing by 12.2% to INR 448 crore, and the PAT margin improving to 15.2% from 14.8% in Q2 FY26. The business saw an increase in the B2C revenue share and conducted approximately 11.39 million tests during the quarter. Fortis continues to expand its diagnostics network, with 4,551 customer touchpoints as of September 2026.

Fortis Healthcare’s net debt stood at INR 2,188 crore, with a net debt to EBITDA ratio of 0.87x, reflecting a slight improvement from the previous year. The company remains focused on strategic mergers and acquisitions and greenfield opportunities to strengthen its market position. Analysts view Fortis’s growth strategy and recent acquisitions as positive steps towards enhancing its competitive edge in key markets, positioning the company well to meet the increasing demand for healthcare services in India.
