Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited (ABFRL) announced its unaudited financial results for the quarter and half-year ending 30th September 2026, reflecting modest growth amid challenging market conditions. The company reported a 2% year-on-year increase in revenue for the second quarter, reaching Rs. 2030 crore. However, the shift in festive dates to the third quarter and a subdued wedding season impacted overall performance, with EBITDA declining by 43% to Rs. 67 crore compared to the same period last year.
Despite these challenges, ABFRL’s emerging businesses demonstrated resilience and contributed significantly to growth. The ethnic portfolio, excluding TCNS, experienced a 12% year-on-year growth, while the luxury portfolio and TMRW portfolio grew by 11% and 10%, respectively. OWND, a key growth driver, reported a remarkable 58% increase in revenue, primarily driven by new store additions.
The company’s strategic expansion continued, with the addition of 35 new stores in the second quarter, bringing the total to over 80 new stores in the first half of the fiscal year. ABFRL’s retail footprint now spans approximately 7.8 million square feet. The company closed the quarter with gross cash reserves of Rs. 1143 crore, with Rs. 628 crore at the standalone level.
ABFRL’s diverse portfolio, which includes Pantaloons, OWND, and a comprehensive range of ethnic and luxury brands, positions it well for future growth. The company remains optimistic about the long-term opportunities in India’s fashion and lifestyle market, despite near-term macroeconomic uncertainties. Analysts note that ABFRL’s focus on expanding its retail presence, enhancing merchandise assortments, and strengthening brand salience will be crucial in navigating the evolving market landscape and driving sustainable, profitable growth.
