Muthoot Finance Limited has reported significant growth in its financial performance for the half year ended September 30, 2026. The company’s consolidated Loan Assets Under Management (AUM) increased by 42% year-on-year to ₹2,09,317 crores, while the consolidated profit after tax rose by 39% to ₹6,103 crores. This was announced during a board meeting held on October 31, 2026.
The standalone Loan AUM also saw a substantial increase of 42% year-on-year, reaching ₹1,87,810 crores. The standalone profit after tax for the half year grew by 26% to ₹5,527 crores. Muthoot Finance’s gold loan segment was a key driver of this growth, with consolidated gold loan AUM rising by 46% to ₹1,93,212 crores. The company also expanded its customer base, with the number of active customers increasing from 64 lakhs to 69 lakhs during the half year.
In addition to the strong performance of its core gold loan business, Muthoot Finance’s subsidiaries also contributed to the growth. Muthoot Money Ltd reported a 99% increase in Loan AUM to ₹12,716 crores, with a 242% rise in profit after tax to ₹364 crores. Belstar Microfinance Limited achieved a profit turnaround, reporting a profit of ₹144 crores compared to a loss of ₹160 crores in the previous year. Muthoot Homefin (India) Ltd and Asia Asset Finance PLC in Sri Lanka also showed positive growth in their respective financial metrics.
The company also announced strategic changes and expansions, including the merger of Muthoot Money Limited into Muthoot Finance Limited, effective April 1, 2027, subject to approvals. This merger aims to simplify the group structure and enhance operational and financial efficiencies. Additionally, the group opened 336 new branches in the first half of FY27, further strengthening its market presence.
Analysts view Muthoot Finance’s performance as a reflection of the growing demand in India’s gold loan market, supported by the increasing formalisation of borrowing. The company’s strong results and strategic initiatives position it well to capitalise on future growth opportunities in the sector.
