Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has reported its unaudited financial results for the second quarter and half-year ending 30 September 2026, showcasing a remarkable performance with record-breaking sales and revenue figures. The Board of Directors approved these results at a meeting held on 28 October 2026.

For the second quarter of FY 2026-27, HMIL achieved its highest-ever quarterly revenue, surpassing the ₹20,000 crore milestone, marking a significant achievement since the company’s inception. The total sales for the quarter reached 219,072 units, reflecting a robust year-on-year growth of 15% and a quarter-on-quarter increase of 23%. This growth was driven by a strong domestic market performance, with volumes increasing by 19% both year-on-year and quarter-on-quarter. Notably, the company also recorded an all-time high rural penetration of 26.6% and a record contribution of 19.1% from CNG vehicles.

Despite geopolitical challenges, HMIL’s export segment experienced a year-on-year growth of 4% and a substantial sequential growth of 38%. The launch of the BAYON model marked the beginning of HMIL’s ‘golden product cycle,’ receiving an encouraging market response. However, elevated commodity costs impacted profitability, although operating leverage, a healthy product mix, and cost reduction initiatives helped improve the EBITDA margin sequentially to 9.5%.

In terms of financial metrics, HMIL reported consolidated revenue of ₹206,961 million for Q2 FY27, a significant increase from ₹163,346 million in the previous quarter. However, the EBITDA for the quarter stood at ₹19,745 million, down from ₹24,289 million in Q2 FY26, reflecting the impact of commodity headwinds. The profit after tax (PAT) for the quarter was ₹11,962 million, compared to ₹15,723 million in the same period last year.

Tarun Garg, Managing Director and CEO of HMIL, commented on the results, highlighting the milestone achievements in volumes and revenue. He acknowledged the challenges posed by elevated commodity costs but expressed optimism for the second half of the fiscal year, citing the launch of the BAYON and a forthcoming mass-market electric vehicle in Q4 FY27 as key drivers of future growth. Despite macroeconomic uncertainties, HMIL remains focused on strengthening its leadership across key segments and delivering sustainable growth and profitability.

Analysts and market observers will be closely monitoring HMIL’s performance in the coming quarters, particularly in light of the anticipated product launches and ongoing economic challenges.
