Summary: The Corporate Laws Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India issued an announcement on 25 September 2026 concerning a proposed nationwide bank strike from 28 to 30 September 2026. The proposed strike coincides with statutory and regulatory compliance timelines, including the completion of statutory and tax audits and the holding of Annual General Meetings for companies whose respective due dates fall on 30 September 2026. The Committee advises members to plan their assignments well in advance and obtain the bank-related information, documents and other confirmations needed for their work. It also suggests that members advise clients to arrange and provide the requisite banking information and documents at the earliest opportunity. The stated purpose is to avoid last-minute difficulties and facilitate timely completion of applicable compliances. Members are asked to take note of the announcement and plan accordingly. The announcement is an advisory about preparation for the proposed disruption; it does not announce a change to any compliance due date. Its practical direction is to identify banking inputs needed for assignments and obtain them early enough to complete the relevant work within the applicable timelines.
