Summary: The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), through its President CS Pawan G. Chandak, submitted a representation dated August 20, 2026 to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs seeking extension of the Company Compliance Facilitation Scheme (CCFS) 2026. ICSI appreciated the Ministry for introducing the Scheme and extending it till August 31, 2026, stating that it has provided companies an opportunity to regularise pending filings and defaults with reduced additional fees and other relaxations. The Institute highlighted practical difficulties faced by companies and professionals in completing pending statutory compliances due to the large number of filings and technical issues being experienced on the MCA-21 V3 portal. It further stated that, in several cases, additional time is required to obtain necessary approvals and complete the filing process. ICSI therefore requested the Ministry to extend CCFS 2026, submitting that an extension would provide a reasonable additional window to complete pending compliances, facilitate voluntary compliance, reduce the burden of historical defaults, enable more companies to regularise statutory filings and improve the overall compliance position and corporate governance.

Respected Madam,
Subject: Representation for extension of the Company Compliance Facilitation Scheme (CCFS) 2026
Greetings from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India!
At the outset we appreciate the Ministry for introducing the Company Compliance Facilitation Scheme (CFSS) 2026 and providing extension till August 31, 2026, it is indeed a progressive and stakeholder-friendly initiative that has provided companies a valuable opportunity to regularise pending compliances.
The Scheme has provided a valuable opportunity to companies to regularise their pending filings and make good the defaults with reduced additional fees and other relaxations. The initiative has been widely appreciated by stakeholders and has significantly facilitated compliance with the provisions of the Companies Act, 2013.
Issue
We wish to draw your kind attention towards the practical difficulties being faced by companies and professionals in completing pending statutory compliances under the CCFS 2026 due to large number of filings involved, coupled with technical issues being experienced on the MCA-21 V3 portal.
In several cases, companies and professionals require additional time to obtain necessary approvals and complete the filing process.
ICSI Submission
In view of the above, we respectfully request you to kindly consider to extend the Company Compliance Facilitation Scheme (CCFS) 2026.
Justification
Such extension would provide a reasonable additional window to companies to complete their pending compliances and would further the objective of the Scheme of facilitating voluntary compliance and reducing the burden of historical defaults.
The proposed extension would also enable a larger number of companies to regularise their statutory filings, thereby improving the overall compliance position and ensuring better corporate governance.
ICSI shall be grateful if the Ministry may kindly consider the above request so as to achieve the intended purpose of bringing out this scheme in the larger interest of stakeholders and corporate compliance.
We will be pleased to furnish any additional information/clarification required in this matter.
Thanking you,
Yours faithfully,
(CS Pawan G Chandak)
