Cockroach Janata Party (CJP): AFTERMATH OF JANTAR-MANTAR MAYHEM
Intuition is an illuminating insight that arrives as a feeling, awareness, inkling, an apprehension as a message we receive that something is going to happen sooner than later. One of the defining qualities of an intuitive insight is that it arrives out of the blue, as if from nowhere. That was what I felt when I read about the result of the two important bye elections held at Datia in Madhya Pradesh and Bankipur in Bihar. The winning of Congress candidate Ghanshyam Singh defeating BJP candidate Ashutosh Tiwari by a margin of 6016 votes in a high-stake fight was a shot in the arm for Congress and a great jolt for BJP. Rightly or wrongly the former home minister of the state Narottam Mishra was not given the ticket in this election.
The second result was that of the newly formed Jan Swaraj Party founder Prashant Kishore, a well-known political consultant, delivered a major political upset by winning the BJP bastion, the Bankipur assembly seat ending BJP’s hold over a constituency it had not lost since 1995.
The significance of this politically connected events came after the eventful Jantar-Mantar action packed supposedly student agitation purportedly started as a protest against the NEET question paper leak turned into a battle ground between the police and the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) student unit and its supporters attracted the attention of the Indian and foreign media and galvanised an united assault by the opposition I.N.D.I.A group spear headed by Congress party led by the leader of the opposition in the Parliament creating deliberate chaos and ruckus for the sole purpose of stalling the proceedings in the Parliament. The severity of the alleged student protest which was highjacked by the unruly anti-social and anti-national elements ably supported by the I.N.D.I.A group opposition parties whose sole aim is to bring down the democratically elected ruling government. The government in order to diffuse the emerging serious situation going out of control, initiated a reconciliatory dialogue with the leaders of CJP and accordingly agreed not to initiate any coercive action against the agitating students and to remove the minister of education. The leaders of the agitating students also withdrew the agitation based on the government assurance.
Supreme Court Proceedings on NEET Protest FIRs
Paving the way for the dropping of cases against student protesters, Supreme Court permitted Delhi and state governments to withdraw or close FIRs lodged during NEET paper leak protests in different parts of India and these youngsters be allowed to pursue their studies without the fear of getting prosecuted. The Hon’ble Chief Justice was of the firm stand that student protesters must be freed from the fear of future prosecution. The Chief Justice opined that since the parameters for students are altogether different, their cases should be considered in a different manner so that they remain in the main stream and their education should not be disbursed. The Apex court posted the matter for further hearing on August 18.
What Is the Truth Behind the Jantar-Mantar Mayhem?
What is the truth behind the Jantar-Mantar mayhem? The protest was initiated by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), a satirical political movement founded by Abhijeet Dipke who is neither a student nor a resident Indian but a USA based political communications strategist and activist landed in India for the sole purpose of creating chaos, launched an indefinite demonstration at Jantar Mantar on June 20, 2026, following a day-long agitation on June 6 at the same site. He is a graduate in journalism and a holds a Master’s Degree in Public Relations. His political background shows that he was associated with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), a member of the I. N. D. I.A group which believes that by making political battle field, a scene of constant chaos so that political power can be usurped by dislodging the democratically elected government.
Permission was granted to Abhijeet Dipke in good faith by the government to undertake his constitutional rights to free speech and action but without investigating his antecedents by Intelligence Bureau and Enforcement Directorate which could have made government to take preventive actions to pre-empt any untoward incidents happening. When government took action, it was too late and the damages were already caused creating havoc in the political arena damaging government’s political credibility and standing. Nobody can predict how the sudden outburst of public anger is going to affect the future political ecosystem in India. But it is visible that once-hegemonistic confidence of BJP has turned to nervousness, CJP and its supporters started taking advantage. In order to eliminate the repeat of what had happened in the neighbouring countries Nepal, Bangladesh etc. the government undertook a tactical surrender and agreed to the demands of CJP by dealing directly with its leadership members so that the opposition parties could not take advantage of the situation. From his reported speeches and public interactions, it can be inferred that Abhijeet Dipke’s hidden agenda of CJP is to convert its student agenda being used as a conduit for broader political purpose and that too without taking any responsibility and accountability.
Student Agitations in Other States
A similar parallel student agitation is ongoing in Ranchi, capital of Jharkhand where in the agitating students in a totally different atmosphere devoid of any untoward incidents like the one developed in JANTAR-MANTAR because the students refused to let the devious political dispositions to highjack the agitation. Later, the ruling JMM led UPA government resorted to untimely lathi charge during and student intimidation injuring many students. There was no public uproar. Besides, the hypocrisy of deceitful opposite political parties is revealed that the ruling government is that of UPA led by JMM supported by Congress and UPA members. They did not agitate and asked for the resignation of the state education minister. Similar exam paper leaks also happened in the state of Punjab being ruled by Aam Admi Party government and Karnataka where Congress government is in the seat of power. There were no such violent agitation by I.N.D.I.A group headed by Congress Party nor any participation and not even a protest movement by the devious Cockroach Janata Party seeking justice for the agitating students. It is thus obvious that the Jantar-Mantar violent incidents were designed and instigated for the sole purpose of bringing down a duly democratically elected NDA government.
CJP’s Prospective Political Role
Intoxicated by the recent success of his youth movement and taking advantage of the disgruntled youths and in the guise to placate agitating youth, Abhijeet Dipke’s immediate agenda is to expand from one protest into a national youth movement and considering the fact that there are ensuing elections in 7 states during 2027, Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) will become an effective anti-BJP Political pressure instrument helping the opposition parties of I.N.D.I.A alliance. Two very important bills namely Foreign Contribution (Regulation)Amendment (FCRA) Bill, 2026 (FCRA) and Delimitation Bill are to be passed and the approach of CJP is keenly being watched. BJP remains India’s strongest political party by far. It has unmatched capacity and financial resources. Jantar-Mantar Mayhem has exposed their vulnerability. It is high time that they have to make a course correction to set right the set back by means of some bold reform initiative to restore the confidence of the public particularly that of Gen Z. The BJP Government has to initiate a course correction. Don’t give up. Persevere through effective public discourse and social communication through social media nationally and globally. It will lead to success.
