To notify regarding designation of Special courts under Section 43 (1) of PMLA, 2002 in the state of Gujarat
The Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), by Notification S.O. 4049(E) dated 23rd July, 2026, has amended the notification S.O. 372(E) dated 5th February, 2016, issued under sub-section (1) of section 43 of the Prevention of Money-laundering Act, 2002, in consultation with the Chief Justice of the High Court of Gujarat. The amendment inserts new entries in the table relating to the State of Gujarat. It designates all CBI Special Courts functioning at the City Civil and Sessions Court, Bhadra, Ahmedabad, to handle all cases where the scheduled/predicate offences pertain to the CBI or as directed by the Hon’ble High Court of Gujarat. It also designates the Principal District Judge, Surat, to deal with cases pertaining to the districts of Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi and Bharuch in Gujarat.

New Delhi, the 23rd July, 2026
S.O. 4049(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 43 of the Prevention of Money-laundering Act, 2002 (15 of 2003) and in consultation with the Chief Justice of High Court of Gujarat, the Central Government hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section(ii) vide number S.O.372(E), dated the 5th February, 2016, namely :-
In the said notification, in the TABLE, against serial number 6 relating to the State of Gujarat, after the existing entries in columns (3) and (4), the following entries shall respectively be inserted, namely :-
