The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), through Notification No. 54/2026-Customs (N.T.) dated 11 June 2026, amended Notification No. 36/2001-Customs (N.T.) by substituting Table-1, Table-2, and Table-3 relating to tariff values under Section 14(2) of the Customs Act, 1962. The revised notification, effective from 12 June 2026, retains the existing tariff values for several imported commodities without any upward or downward revision. Tariff values for crude palm oil, RBD palm oil, crude palmolein, RBD palmolein, crude soybean oil, brass scrap, and areca nuts remain unchanged. Similarly, tariff values applicable to gold and silver imports continue at US$ 1,343 per 10 grams for specified gold imports and US$ 2,092 per kilogram for specified silver imports, including goods availing benefits under Notification No. 45/2025-Customs. The notification demonstrates the Government’s decision to maintain stability in customs valuation mechanisms for these sensitive commodities, thereby ensuring continuity in duty assessment and reducing uncertainty for importers engaged in the trade of these products.
