FSSAI Revises Food Safety Officer List by Removing Multiple Entries

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India issued a notification dated 6th April 2026 under Section 10(5) read with Section 37 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, appointing officers from the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, as Food Safety Officers for specified jurisdictions. This notification amends the principal notification published on 15th June 2021. As part of the amendment, entries at serial numbers 15, 23, 25, 28, 29, 30, 31, 39, and 40 in the existing table have been omitted, thereby modifying the list of designated officers and their respective areas of authority. The notification continues a series of amendments made between 2022 and 2025 to refine enforcement administration under the Act. The changes aim to streamline regulatory oversight and ensure updated deployment of Food Safety Officers for effective implementation of food safety laws across designated regions.

No. RCD-10002/1/2022-Regulatory-FSSAI.— In exercise of the powers conferred under Sub-Section 5 of Section 10 read with Section 37 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 (34 of 2006), the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India hereby notifies the following officers of Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, as Food Safety Officers for the area as mentioned against his /her name with effect from the date of publication of this notification by amending the principal notification, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part III, Section 4 dated the 15^th June 2021:-

In the table, serial number 15,23,25,28,29,30, 31,39 and 40 shall be omitted.
