FSSAI Appoints New Food Safety Officers at Major Ports and Airports

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued a notification on 19th November 2025 appointing new Food Safety Officers under the powers of Section 10(5) read with Section 37 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. The notification amends the principal notification published in June 2021 and subsequent amendments up to July 2025. Seven officers from the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, have been designated as Food Safety Officers for key ports and airports across India. Specifically, Dr. Aswinram Rathan A for Chennai Port, Dr. Ahammad A for Tuticorin Port, Dr. Sujata Arya and Dr. Rohit Singh Parmar for Delhi Airport, Dr. Pankaj Kumar Managal for Jaipur Airport, Dr. Rajendrasinh R. Jadeja for Kandla Port, and Dr. Amritha M for Trichy Airport. These appointments aim to strengthen regulatory oversight, ensure food safety compliance at entry points, and streamline enforcement at airports and seaports in line with the FSSAI framework.

No. RCD-10002/1/2022-Regulatory-FSSAI -In exercise of the powers conferred under Sub-Section 5 of Section 10 read with Section 37 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 (34 of 2006), the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India hereby notifies the following officers of Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, as Food Safety Officers for the area as mentioned against his /her name with effect from the date of publication of this notification by amending the principal notification, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part III, Section 4 dated the 15^th June 2021:-

In the table, after serial number 36, the following entries shall be inserted in the respective columns, namely: –
