The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India issued a notification dated 24 February 2026 modifying its earlier 1985 notification concerning the jurisdiction of the Kota Branch under the Central India Regional Council (CIRC). Exercising its powers under Regulation 136(1) of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1964, ICAI announced the detachment of Jhalawar district in Rajasthan from the jurisdiction of the Kota Branch. This change became effective from 6 February 2026. The notification represents an administrative restructuring aimed at redefining regional jurisdiction within ICAI’s branch network. By altering the territorial limits of the Kota Branch, ICAI ensures better governance and management of its regional operations. The partial modification of the earlier notification highlights ICAI’s authority to periodically review and adjust its institutional framework to align with evolving administrative or professional requirements across regions.

No. 1-CA (7)/240/2026.—Whereas the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India vide notification no. 28-RC(4)/13/85 dated 18th September, 1985 w.e.f 16th September 1985 had set up a Branch of Central India Regional Council at Kota under Regulation 136(1) of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1964.
Now in partial modification of the aforesaid notification, the Council of the Institute hereby notify the detachment of Jhalawar from the Jurisdiction of Kota Branch of CIRC of ICAI.
The effective date of detachment of Jhalawar (Rajasthan) from the Jurisdiction of Kota Branch of CIRC of ICAI will be February 6th, 2026.
