In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (ii) of sub-section (1) of section 80L of the Income-tax Act, 1961 (43 of 1961), the Central Government hereby specifies the 5 years 17% interest per annum payable half-yearly secured, redeemable, non-convertible taxable debentures in the nature of bonds (V-Issue, I-Series) of Rs. 1,00,000 each for an amount of rupees four hundred ninety one crores only, bearing distinctive numbers from H-1 to H-49100, and the 5 years 16.75% interest per annum payable half-yearly secured, redeemable, non-convertible taxable debentures in the nature of bonds, (V-Issue, II-Series) of Rs. 1,00,000 each, for an amount of rupees two hundred seventy four crores only, bearing distinctive numbers from J-1 to J-27400 issued by the Steel Authority of India Limited, New Delhi, for the purpose of the said clause.
