Income Tax Notification No: 255 (08-Oct-04) Rescind the Notification No. S.O. 1347(E) dated 23rd December 2002 – 6.75% NABARD Tax Free Bonds
Whereas the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by item (h) of sub-clause (iv) of clause (15) of Section 10 of the Income-tax Act, 1961, specified 6.75% NABARD Tax Free Bonds of rupees ten thousand each, issued by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Mumbai, during 2002-03, carrying an interest of 6.75% per annum, for a period of five years for an amount of rupees one thousand crores only with distinctive numbers 0000001 to 1000000, in the notification of the Government of India, in the erstwhile Ministry of Finance and Company Affairs (Department of Revenue), Central Board of Direct Taxes vide number S.O. 1347(E) dated the 23rd December, 2002 published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), dated the 23rd December, 2002;
Now, in exercise of the powers conferred by the aforesaid provisions of Income-tax Act, 1961, the Central Government hereby rescinds the said notification except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such rescission, and specifies the following NABARD Tax Free Bonds, in dematerialised form, of rupees ten thousand each issued by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Mumbai, during Financial Year 2002-2003 and Financial year 2003-2004, for a period of five years, namely:
