In another investigation into Commonwealth Games-related expenditure, Income Tax department has surveyed the premises of SIS Live and Zoom Communications which executed the Rs 250 crore contract for broadcasting rights of the Games. Rs 150 crore has already been paid to UK-based SIS Live which had bagged the CWG telecast rights from Prasar Bharti, sources said.

Investitation into the activities and accounts of the company at its Okhla office last week revealed that SIS sub-contracted the job to Zoom Communications at 30% of the total contract value. Intriguingly, Zoom Communications, sources said, operates from the same premises.

Efforts to contact Zoom Communications did not succeed. The probe is looking into transactions from the account that UK firm has opened in a Mumbai branch of Royal Bank of Scotland. The identity of shareholders of UK firm is also under scanner. I-T department has found several discrepancies in SIS Live, including doubts raised on the authenticity of the service tax number.
