Dear Principal Chief Commissioner of Income-tax,
Subject: Achievement of objectives and goals specified in Central Action Plan, 2018-19.
The Board has today issued the Central Action Plan for 2018-19 and the same has been placed on the website. The Action Plan document lays down the deliverables, action points and time-lines in respect of Key Result Areas of the Department for the current year.
The focus areas for the current year are litigation management, liquidation of arrears of taxes, widening of tax base and strengthening compliance and enforcement functions. Specific targets and strategies in these focus areas have been prescribed in the Action Plan. I am confident that you and your team of officers and staff will make all efforts to achieve these targets. You will also ensure that wherever necessary, the workload of appeal and assessment is redistributed amongst officers so that the overall quantitative goals are achieved for the Region under your administration. Supervision and monitoring of the progress of work in these areas, both in quantitative and qualitative terms, should be continuously undertaken by the supervisory officers so that any slippage is immediately addressed.
You are requested to bring the Central Action Plan to the notice of all officers working in your jurisdiction for proper implementation. The Board shall be periodically monitoring the progress of implementation of Action Plan through Video Conference, meetings with Pr. CCIT/ CCIT and D.O. letters of the Members. I wish you and your entire team successful achievement of your assigned targets.
