Finance Department of Maharashtra has issued a significant amendment to the Maharashtra Value Added Tax Act, 2002, regarding the inclusion of Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre (TECC) in Mumbai.

MAHARASHTRA VALUE ADDED TAX ACT, 2002.
No. VAT. 1523/CR-64/Taxation-1.— In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 41 of the Maharashtra Value Added Tax Act, 2002 (Mah. IX of 2005), the Government of Maharashtra hereby amends with effect from 26th September 2023, the Government Notification, Finance Department, No. VAT.1509/CR-89/Taxation-1, dated the 5th November 2009, as follows,
namely :—
In the SCHEDULE appended to the said Notification, under the heading (II)-Other Organisations, in column (2), in entry 2, after the sub-entry (iii), the following sub-entry shall be added, namely :—
“(iv) Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre (TECC), in Mumbai.”
