Haryana celebrated the 9th anniversary of GST implementation on 1 July 2026 at Panchkula, highlighting the state’s outstanding achievements in GST administration and revenue growth. Haryana recorded the highest State GST revenue growth in the country at 32% during the first quarter of FY 2026-27, significantly exceeding the national average of 18%. The state also achieved 14.66% growth in June 2026, collecting ₹4,175 crore compared to ₹3,641 crore in June 2025, while ranking third among major states for monthly collections. State GST revenue has more than doubled between 2018-19 and 2024-25, with Haryana contributing 7.4% of India’s GST collections despite accounting for only 1.34% of the country’s area and 2.2% of its population. Officials credited taxpayers, tax practitioners, and industry for the success, while highlighting GST rate rationalisation, simplified tax structure, removal of inverted duty issues, and consumer-friendly reforms introduced in 2025.

Haryana continues its impressive growth as it celebrates nine years of GST implementation
The State of Haryana celebrated 9th anniversary of successful implementation of Goods and Services Act on 1st July 2026 by organizing a function at Panchkula. The function was chaired by Smt. Ashima Brar, Commissioner and Secretary, Excise and Taxation, and attended by Sh. Vinay Pratap Singh, Excise and Taxation Commissioner, the senior officers of the Department, members of tax bars, CAs, tax practitioners and representatives of trade and industry.
Smt. Ashima Brar, in her keynote address, tracing down the journey of last nine years of GST implementation, highlighted the success story of the state in overcoming various challenges faced by the Department wherein the revenue of the state more than doubled between 2018-19 and 2024-25. The state contributes about 7.4% to the national GST collections despite being just 1.34% of national territory and 2.2% of the national population. She also dwelt upon the evolving indirect tax structure of GST. In a major GST reform carried out in September, 2025, multi-tier rate structure of GST was simplified by reducing it to practically two-tier rate structure. Moreover, inverted duty structure has been done away with in most cases. The rate rationalization also reduced tax burden on the consumers wherein all the merit goods are placed under 5% slab and consumer goods at standard rate of 18%. She highlighted the contribution of taxpayers and tax practitioners as key stake holders in the success story of GST.
In his welcome address, Sh. Vinay Pratap Singh underlined the remarkable achievements of the State towards GST collections. The State ranked first in growth rate of State GST revenue during 2025-26 amongst all States with 22% growth. The State continues to rank first in the growth rate of State GST collections amongst all the States in the current financial year as well till June, 2026 with 32% growth rate. Appreciating the collective efforts of all the stake holders, he called upon the taxpayers and tax practitioners to cooperate with the Department towards an efficient and transparent tax administration.

The representatives of trade and industry, tax bar also delivered their addresses on this occasion expressing their views on various aspects of GST implementations highlighting seamless flow of goods and services across states boundaries. They spoke about the benefit of one nation one tax forging a single market in the country.
The Department also felicitated some of the compliant taxpayers contributing significantly to the state GST revenue.
With regard to GST collections during June, 2026, the state of Haryana recorded a growth rate of 14.66 % in State GST collections for the month of June, 2026 over June, 2025. The State of Haryana made a collection of Rs 4175 Crore during June, 2026 against a collection of Rs 3641 Crore during June, 2025. The State ranked third amongst major states, behind Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh, for collections during June, 2026. The national average growth rate in State GST collections during June has been 9%.
Haryana also stands first in the cumulative growth rate of state GST revenue amongst all States in the first three months of Financial Year 2026-27, recording a growth rate of 32% over the corresponding period of the previous financial year. The average national growth of state GST revenue during first three months of the current financial year is 18%.
