Extension of Last Date for filing GSTR-3B for July, 2018 extended till 24th August, 2018 for all class of taxpayers

As per PIB also The last date for Filing of Return in FORM GSTR-3B for the month of July, 2018 has been extended till 24th August, 2018 for all class of taxpayers by the Competent Authority.

Taxpayer across the country were demanding extension of due date of GSTR 3B of July as from last few days there were lots of Issues on GST Portal and GST website was also very slow, which made return filing very difficult.

Gujarat Sales Tax Bar Association has also Requested to extend time limit to file GST return 3B due to Non Working of GST Website by its representation dated 20th August, 2018 to GST Council.

The relevant Notification for the same shall is as follows:-

Notification No. 35/2018 — Central Tax

New Delhi, the 21st August, 2018

G.S.R. 792(E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by section 168 of the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 (12 of 2017) read with sub-rule (5) of rule 61 of the Central Goods and Services Tax Rule, 2017, the Central Government, on the recommendations of the Council, hereby makes the following amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 34/2018- Central Tax, dated the 10th August, 2018, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, sub-section (i) vide number G.S.R.761 (E), dated the 10th August, 2018, namely:-

In the first paragraph of the said notification, the following proviso shall be inserted, namely:—

“Provided that the return in FORM GSTR-3B for the month of July, 2018 shall be furnished electronically through the common portal, on or before the 24th August, 2018.”.

    A Good Timely Decision by by the Council and the Central Government as the GSTR 3B data could not get saved in the last couple of days . Thanks for the initiative by Gujarat Sales Tax bar Association
