Subject: GST Council meeting on MSME Sector — Trade Representations and grievances on GST – reg.
As you are aware, in the 28th GST Council Meeting held on 22nd July, 2018, it was decided to have a GST Council Meeting exclusively to focus upon the issues / hardships faced by Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) related to GST on 4th August, 2018. The session would consider on all aspects of GST with specific focus upon law, policy, procedure, notifications, rates, GSTN related issues etc. effecting the MSME taxpayers / sector.
2. In this regard, you are requested to send letters to all the States & Union Territories, asking them to contact the MSME taxpayers and their trade & Industry Associations in their respective States & UTs, collect their grievances / issues related to GST along with suggestions thereof for mitigating the issues, Further, such issues may be consolidated by the Secretariat of GST Council in a broadsheet (as per the format given below) highlighting the grievances, trade suggestions and their valuable comments / feedback/ recommendations and sent to GST Policy Wing of CBIC by 27.07.2018 for preparing comments before being put up to the GST Council.

From the CBIC, the office of DGGST is collecting the information from various GST Zones and would consolidate in the above format and forward to GST Policy Wing of CBIC for their examination and preparing comments so that it becomes easier for the Secretariat office of GST Council to present to the Council meeting.
