On 3 July 2008, the International Financial Reporting Interpretations Committee (IFRIC) issued IFRIC 15 Agreements for the Construction of Real Estate. The Interpretation addresses the accounting for revenue and associated expenses by entities that undertake the construction of real estate directly or through subcontractors. Agreements within the scope of IFRIC 15 are described as ‘agreements for the construction of real estate’, and may include the delivery of other goods or services. The Union Cabinet today approved the proposal for extending the scheme of interest subvention of 1% on housing loans upto Rs.15 lakh where the cost of the house does not exceed Rs.25 lakh for the year 2012-13 and to amend the operational part of guidelines for release of funds.
In addition, it has further been decided to change the time of booking of Tatkal tickets at the counters from existing 8.00 A.M. to 10.00 A.M. with effect from 10th July, 2012 to avoid congestion in the morning hours at counters for the normal advance booking passengers. The restriction on the agents for Tatkal tickets booking during the first two hours shall also continue. The Minister said that these steps have started yielding results.
The International Financial Reporting Interpretations Committee (IFRIC) issued IFRIC 17 Distributions of Non-cash Assets to Owners. IFRIC 17 is to be applied prospectively for annual periods beginning on or after 1 July 2009. This Interpretation provides guidance on the appropriate accounting treatment when an entity distributes assets other than cash as dividends to its shareholders. Encouraged by the success of the last year’s Pendency Reduction Drive, undertaken for reduction in pendency in the courts from 1st July 2011 to 31st December 2011, the Minister of Law & Justice, Shri Salman Khurshid, has requested the Chief Justices of all the High Courts to undertake another drive this year from 1st July 2012 to 31st December, 2012 .
With a view to further improve the delivery of Tatkal tickets to passengers, the Ministry of Railways has decided that with effect from 10.07.2012 booking of Tatkal ticket will start at 1000 hours on the previous day of journey from train originating station instead of 0800 hours at present.
The Ministry of Railways has released its new All India Railway Time Table known as TRAINS AT A GLANCE (TAG) which has come into effect from 1st July, 2012. In addition to this All India Time table, all the 17 zonal Railways have also released their zonal railway time tables which too have come into effect from 1st July, 2012. Passengers are advised to refer to the new timings w.e.f. 1st July 2012 before starting the journey. The new Trains at a Glance will also be shortly uploaded on Railways’ official website i.e. www.indianrailways.gov.in.
A hedge fund is a private, largely unregulated pool of capital whose managers can buy or sell any assets, bet on falling as well as rising assets and participate substantially in profits from money invested. It charges both a performance fee and a management fee. An investment fund must be open to a limited number of accredited investors in order to be exempt from direct regulation. There is no legal definition for “hedge fund” under Indian securities law and regulations.
