Subject: ECC based on PAN – date of introduction changed to 1.2.2000

It is directed to refer to the Board’s Circular number 493/59/99-CX dated 12th November, 1999 regarding introduction of new Excise Control (new ECC) number based on Permanent Account Number (PAN) allotted by the Income Tax Department. The Government has decided to extend the date of introduction of new ECC number from 1st January, 2000 to 1st February, 2000. The aforesaid Circular stands modified to this extent.
