Ministry of Commerce and Industry, through the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), has issued Notification No. 48/2024-25 permitting the export of 2,00,000 metric tons (MTs) of wheat (HSN 1001) to Nepal. This export is authorized under Section 3 and Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, and in accordance with the Foreign Trade Policy 2023, as amended. The National Cooperative Exports Limited (NCEL) will facilitate the export. The notification aligns with the provisions outlined in Para 2(B) of a prior notification (No. 06/2015-20, dated May 13, 2022). The directive specifically authorizes this quantity of wheat to ensure regulated trade practices and bilateral support between India and Nepal.
