The Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued Public Notice No. 77 (RE: 2005)/2004-2009 on December 26, 2005, revising the Duty Entitlement Pass Book (DEPB) rates for specific engineering products under Product Code 61. This amendment applies to the period between October 6, 2004, and March 29, 2005. The updated rates include a 9% DEPB rate with value caps of Rs. 95 per kg for forged crankshafts made of alloy steel (Sl. No. 410B) and Rs. 73 per kg for front axle beam forgings made of alloy steel (Sl. No. 411B). These amendments aim to provide clarity on export incentives for engineering goods. The notification was issued by Gopal K. Pillai, Director General of Foreign Trade, in public interest, under the authority of Paragraph 2.4 of the Foreign Trade Policy (2004-2009) and Paragraph 1.1 of the Handbook of Procedures (Vol. 1).

In exercise of powers conferred under Paragraph 2.4 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-2009 (Updated as on 31st March, 2005) and Paragraph 1.1 of the Handbook of Procedures (Vol.1)(Updated as on 31st March, 2005) the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendments /correction in the Book titled “Schedule of DEPB rates”: –

The following rates are made applicable for entries specified below for the period 06.10.2004 to 29.03.2005: –
