On October 13, 1998, the Government of India issued Public Notice No. 48 (RE-98)/1997-2002, making amendments to Schedule 2 Appendix 1 of the ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items 1997-2002. In accordance with the powers granted under the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, and the Export and Import Policy, the notice removes “Powder milk” and “Ghee” from the list of items specified for export under Serial No. 29. This amendment reflects a shift in the classification of export items in the trade policy and aims to update the export guidelines in line with changing market conditions. The decision is made in the public interest to ensure the proper alignment of export categories.
