PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 33 (RE-01)/ 1997-2002

NEW DELHI, the 7th of August,2001

In exercise of powers conferred under Paragraph 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy 1997-2002, as notified in the Gazette of India extraordinary, Part-II Section 3, Sub section (ii) vide S.O. No.283(E) dated 31.03.1997, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendment in Handbook (Vol 1).(RE-01), 1997-2002

1. In continuation of the provisions of Public Notice No 54 dated 07.02.2001 relating to the relaxation given to the units located in the areas affected by the earthquake in the State of Gujarat, an additional proviso is made for EOU/ EPZ/ SEZ units as under:

” On account of the devastation rendered by the earthquake that struck the coast of Gujarat on 26.01.2001, it is hereby decided to declare 2000-2001 as a blank year for the purpose of monitoring export obligation for EOU/ EPZ/ SEZ units located in the areas affected by the earthquake in the State of Gujarat.”

2. Public Notice No 54 dated 07.02.2001 pertaining to the special dispensation for units located in the areas affected by the earthquake in the state of Gujarat would be applicable only in the cases where the respective licences (i.e EPCG, Advance Licence, DEPB & DFRC) are valid on the date of the earthquake i.e 26.01.2001. Wherever a one year amnesty has been given in the said Public Notice, it would refer to the period 26.01.2001 to 25.01.2002.

3. Para 15.3 of the Handbook pertaining to the facility of issue of split up licences stands deleted.

4. The Following Major Export Product Group would be added to at the end of S. No 10 of Appendix 1:

5. The Following columns would be added between Column Nos 9 and 10 in the Table pertaining to the “Details of Exports made” at S.No 6 of Appendix 11 C :
