Notification No. 20 (RE-99)/1997-2002, dated July 9, 1999, issued by the Ministry of Commerce, amends Schedule 2 Table B of the “ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items 1997-2002”. The amendment specifically alters the export policy for Niger Seeds under Code No. 1207. The revised entry states that the export of Niger Seeds is now classified as “Canalised” and is to be carried out through TRIFED (Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India) in accordance with the directions issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT). This update aims to regulate and streamline the export process for Niger Seeds. The notification is issued in the public interest to ensure adherence to the guidelines set by the DGFT.

In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act,1992 (No.22 of 1992) read with paragraph 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy,1997-2002, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendment in Schedule 2 Table B of the book titled “ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items 1997-2002”:
“The entry against Code No.1207, relating to export of Niger Seeds shall be amended to read as under:
