NOTIFICATION NO. 9 (RE-2003)/2002-2007

NEW DELHI DATED THE 9TH MAY, 2003

S.O.(E) In exercise of powers conferred by Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act,1992 (No.22 of 1992) read with Paragraph 1.1 and 2.4 of the Export and Import Policy, 2002-2007 the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the “ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items, 2002-2007.

2. In supercession of DGFT’s notifications issued earlier pertaining to export of onion it has now been decided to make the following proposals with the approval of competent authority:

3. All quantitative restrictions on export of all varieties of onion stand removed.

4. The mechanism of canalisation of export through NAFED & other agencies as notified vide notification No.41 (RE-98)/1997-2002 dated 12.2.1999 and subsequent notifications issued in this regard would be retained for the time being. The number of agencies and the fees for the service provided to onion exporters by these agencies as notified vide notification No.8 (RE-2002)/2002-2007 dated 28.6.2002 and notification No.14 (RE-2002)/2002-2007 dated 21.8.2002 would continue.
