NOTIFICATION No. 86 (RE-2008)/2004-2009

New Delhi, Dated the 17th February, 2009

S.O (E) – In exercise of powers conferred by Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 (No. 22 of 1992) read with Para 1.3 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-2009 (as amended from time to time), the Central Government hereby makes the following amendment in Foreign Trade Policy:

  1. At the end of paragraph 4.1.3, the following sub-paragraph shall be added:-

“However, advance authorization for import of raw sugar, can be issued either to a manufacturer exporter or merchant exporter tied to supporting manufacturer(s). Exports can also be made by procurement of white sugar from any other factory(ies).This provision shall be applicable for exports from 17.2.2009.”

2. At the end of paragraph 4.1.5 , a sub-para shall be added as follows:

“However, the actual user condition shall not be applicable in case of raw sugar to be imported from 17.2.2009, till 30.09.2009 under advance authorization Scheme.”

This issues in Public Interest.
