NOTIFICATION No. 42 (RE-2005)/2004-09

NEW DELHI: Dated: 6th February, 2006

S.O. (E) In exercise of powers conferred under section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 read with paragraph 2.1 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-09, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items, 2004-09.

2. After amendment the following entry would read as under:-

Exim Code Item description Policy Policy conditions
12119046 Kuth roots Restricted Import will be subject to the provisions of Convention of International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna & Flora (CITES) and Wildlife (Protection) Act 1972.
06022020 Cactus Restricted Import will be subject to the provisions of Convention of International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna & Flora (CITES).
12119080 Agarwood Restricted Import will be subject to the provisions of Convention of International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna & Flora (CITES).
12119044 Serpentina Roots (Rauvolfia serpentina and other species of rauvolfia ) Restricted Import will be subject to the provisions of Convention of International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna & Flora (CITES).
33013010 Agar oil Restricted Import will be subject to the provisions of Convention of International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna & Flora (CITES).

3. S.No. 9 (Salab Misri (Tubers) Buzidan) of Import Licencing Note 2 of Chapter 12 under the heading ‘Plant Origin Drugs’ shall stand deleted.

4. The following new condition at S.No.( 5) at the end of chapter 12 shall be inserted:

Import of Salab misri (Orchis laxiflora) required for the manufacture of Ayurvedic, Unani or any other system of medicine shall be restricted subject to the provisions of Convention of International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna & Flora (CITES).”
