NOTIFICATION NO. 38(RE-2000)/1997-2002

NEW DELHI: 16th October 2000

S.O (E) – In exercise of powers conferred under section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 read with paragraph 1.3 and 4.1 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items, 1997-2002 published on 31st March, 1997 (RE-98) as amended from time to time, namely –

2. After amendment the following will read as under: –

Exim Code No. Item description Policy Conditions relating to the policy Import under SIL/Public Notice
262030 00 Ashes and Residue containing mainly copper
262030 01 Brass dross

3. Following new entries will be inserted at the end of appropriate Exim Code:

Exim Code No. Item description Policy Conditions relating to the policy Import under SIL/Public Notice
262030 01.10 Brass dross containing lead equal to or less than 1.25% Free Import permitted to units registered with Ministry of Environment and Forests, Govt. of India
262030 01.90 Brass dross containing lead above 1.25% Restricted Import permitted against a licence and only for the purpose of processing or reuse as per Import Licensing Note 1 on Hazardous Waste below.

 

262030 02 Copper oxide mill scale Free Import permitted to units registered with Ministry of Environment and Forests, Govt. of India
262030 03 Copper Reverts, Cake and Residue
262030 03.10 Copper Reverts, Cake and Residue containing lead and cadmium equal to or less than 1.25% and 0.1% respectively Free Import permitted to units registered with Ministry of Environment and Forests, Govt. of India
262030 03.90 Copper Reverts, Cake and Residue containing lead and cadmium greater than 1.25% and 0.1% respectively Restricted Import permitted against a licence and only for the purpose of processing or reuse as per Import Licensing Note 1 on Hazardous Waste below
